Notification of Companies (Filing of documents and forms in Extensible Business Reporting Language) Rules,2011

The Central Government has vide notification G.S.R.(E) dated 05.10.2011 notified the much awaited Rules on XBRL, which came into effect from 06.10.2011.

Rule 3 to the Rules clearly provides the companies, which are mandatorily required to file Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss and other documents as required under Section 220 of the Companies Act, 1956 in XBRL mode for the Financial Year ending 31st March, 2011.

The Companies are as follows:

  1. All companies listed with any Stock Exchange(s) in India and their Indian subsidiaries; or
  2. All companies having paid up capital of rupees five crore or above; or
  3. All companies having turnover of rupees hundred crore or above.

It is to be noted that companies falling under banking, insurance, power sectors and NBFCs are exempted from this requirement for F/Y 2010-11.

The XBRL Testimony has also been attached with such notification.

To facilitate this, Central Government has vide notification dated 05.10.2011 prescribed the Companies (Central Government) General Rules and Forms (Amendment) Rules 2011 wherein new e-forms 23AC-XBRL and 23ACA-XBRL for filing Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss and other documents as required under Section 220 of the Companies Act, 1956 have been inserted.

Extension of dates of Company Law Settlement Scheme

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, vide its General Circular No. 65/2011 dated 4th October, 2011, has extended the date of the Company Law Settlement Scheme,2011 from 31st October,2011 to 15th December,2011.

Extension of dates for updating PAN details through e-form DIN-4

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs, vide its General Circular No. 66/2011 dated 4th October, 2011, has further extended the date for furnishing PAN details by filing e-form DIN-4, from 30th September,2011 to 15th December,2011.
