Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) vide notification dated October 24, 2014 has made amendment in schedule VII of the Act relating to Corporate Social Responsibility and the details of the said amendment is reproduced as below:-
- In item (i), after the words "and sanitation", the words "including contribution to the Swach Bharat Kosh set-up by the Central Government for the promotion of sanitation" shall be inserted;
After such amendment, text of item (i) of schedule VII of the Act shall be read as:-
- Eradicating hunger, poverty and malnutrition, promoting health care including preventive health care and sanitation including contribution to the Swach Bharat Kosh set-up by the Central Government for the promotion of sanitation and making available safe drinking water
- In item (iv), after the words "and water", the words "including contribution to the Clean Ganga Fund set-up by the Central Government for rejuvenation of river Ganga;" shall be inserted.
After such amendment, text of item (iv) of schedule VII of the Act shall be read as:-
- Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protecting of flora and fauna, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and maintaining quality of soil, air and water including contribution to the Clean Ganga Fund set-up by the Central Government for rejuvenation of river Ganga.
