MCA vide circular no 27/2014 dated 30th June 2014 has extended the time for filing form no DPT-4 by 2 months i.e. up to 31-08-2014 without any additional fee in terms of section 403 of the Act. As per section 74 the last date of filing the said form was 30th June 2014.

Filing of Form 23C for appointment of cost auditor

Section 148 providing for appointment of cost auditor has been notified but relevant rules thereunder weren’t notified yet and due to which there is lot of confusion as to the form which is required to be filed in case of appointment of cost auditor. Since eForm 23C was available for e-filing , lot of companies were filing the same as no other option was available.

In order to end the aforesaid confusion , MCA has on its website provided that for appointment of cost auditor, form 23C will not be applicable and forms under the 2013 Act and new cost audit rules will be made available shortly.
